Out and about...

Sunday 23 November at Yarra Glen Station Farmers' Market on the outskirts of Yarra Glen. Lots of producers' stalls with fresh, quality produce.

Sunday 30 November at Harvest Picnic at Werribee Park.

A good opportunity to sample our wines. Hope to see you.

In the vineyard…

Spring has sprung and the new shoots on the vines are growing rapidly. Good winter rains have provided a good start for vine growth. The weather is still cool so early growth is expected to be moderate. We now cross our fingers and hope for more spring rain and no frost. Here we go into another season...

And the wines…

Our winery was rated 3½ stars by James Halliday in the 2008 edition of The Wine Companion. This makes our wines extremely good value at their existing price points.

Our 2007 sauvignon blanc is drinking well. It has developed well in the bottle and is expected to continue improving for another 18 months. Great with chicken, seafood and spicy Asian dishes or with a few nibbles on a warm day.

We have added a rosé to our range made from early harvested merlot grapes. The 2008 vintage produced a wonderful wine for summer drinking. It was judged the top rosé at the 2008 Yarra Valley Wine Show.

The 2004 shiraz is still drinking beautifully but is almost sold out.

We have now released our 2006 Merlot. The fruit and oak flavours are well integrated and the wine has developed smooth, robust flavours and good mouthfeel. The merlot will continue to develop for some years yet. Just missed a bronze medal at the 2008 Yarra Valley Wine Show.

Our 2005 shiraz is developing well. It was bottled in early December 2006 but will not be released until late 2008. Awarded a bronze medal at the 2008 Yarra Valley Wine Show
